Attack on Stand-outs

Thursday, June 9, 2011

One of the things I can't stand the most about people, is the way they try to stand out. Have you ever known a person who thinks that they can change you just by what they say? Or how about people who do things publicly that just say "HEY PEOPLE LOOK AT ME, AM I COOL YET? HUH?". The kind of people who want to communicate some kind of useless opinion to the world. I might be a hypocrite in saying this, but I hate people who want to show others their errors or their point of view.

Now I know that blogging is one way of venting that sort of thing, but that is private, it's a matter between you and me (Or whoever the blogger). You can always close this window, I know you can, try Alt and F4. But my point is that people who try to stand out and be the hero, preaching something that is nothing but talk, are despicable. They're just as bad as those who try to get attention from their grievance and want sympathy and pity for their utterly depressing life. They just want your precious time and attention, that's all they want.

That's where I, and a Japanese school differ from kids these days. One thing I can say Japan has done half right, is their schooling. Their students all conform and don't try to stand alone. I don't think people should stand out, not at all. Being an individual is fine, but if try to push your individuality on others, it makes your individuality, a vexatious one.

I recall being at a High School Poetry Slam not too long ago that made a perfect example of what I mean. Sure, you need to impress judges by trying to send a message and making a point. But when EVERYONE IS DOING THE SAME POEM ABOUT IT, what's the point? I only wish I could have been in it so that I could recite a silly poem with no rhyme or reason to it that makes everyone else look even sillier. It's not edgy or cool to be DEEP. If you want to send people a message, make a fucking blog and leave us alone.

-A message from some faggot on the internet who vents his inane opinion.
